Schwerpunkt meiner Arbeit ist die bereits gebaute Welt: Umbau, Neukonzeption und Sanierung von Bestand, sowie Gebäude unter Denkmalschutz, mit Fokus auf den Mehrwert für Gesellschaft, Mensch und Umwelt.

BLAUES WUNDER
Minimal House
In the face of soaring costs in the picturesque Bavarian Alps, a young family of four set out to find an alternative way of living, all while reducing their ecological footprint. Guided by a tight budget, their mission went beyond mere design prowess—it involved a reevaluation of their true needs and a desire for a more meaningful lifestyle. Rather than conforming to the norm of excessive space, their focus shifted towards embracing the natural splendor surrounding them, treating their home as a sanctuary for shelter, simplicity, and connection.
Originally conceived as a sprawling 100m2 abode with conventional layouts, took on the challenge of disrupting the status quo. Through ingenuity and a commitment to minimalism, we transformed their vision into a stylish and compact house, distilled down to a chic 55m2. Every inch was carefully considered, creating a space that beautifully blended functionality with aesthetic appeal.

In the midst of pandemic lockdowns, the craving for a game-changing office space became too real to ignore. The surge in demand for an exclusive and vibrant work setting that sparks creativity became the driving force behind the design of Studio MAS in 2021.
A former shop underwent a stunning metamorphosis, emerging as a buzzing hub tailor-made for small business and the startup community. Bursting with youthful energy, Studio MAS exudes a cool and collaborative vibe, attracting dynamic entrepreneurs and innovators.
With its serene yet invigorating atmosphere, Studio MAS serves as a haven for workshops and client meetings, providing a space where ideas flow freely and professional connections thrive.

ADAPTIVE REUSE
In the transformation of a former shop with unique round walls and a 300m2 ground floor layout, a renowned electronic device company sought a special lab design that would meet their requirements. They desired a young and dynamic approach to dividing the space.
To address this, a modular system was implemented, providing a cost-effective solution for separating different areas while allowing the team to adapt swiftly in an ever-changing economy. Unconventional materials such as transparent polycarbonate corrugated sheets, felt wall coverings, and plywood were incorporated, adding a touch of innovation and creativity to the overall design.

SLIM LIVING
Return to Minimalism.
Modern living in a minimalistic space. For silver surfer Eva, sustainability begins with decluttering and embracing a minimalist lifestyle. She took on the challenge of downsizing from a 2-bedroom flat to a single apartment, prioritizing colorful design and efficient storage solutions.
By removing the kitchen wall and incorporating a built-in wardrobe, the small space is illuminated with natural daylight. Additionally, integrating the washing machine into the expanded kitchen area allows for more room in the bathroom, where a luxurious walk-in shower now resides.

Shifting Perspectives
Most of all, a house is a shelter that protects its inhabitants from weather conditions.
By deliberately opening up specific views, altering perspectives, and highlighting typical landmarks, the users not only reside in the space temporarily.
In conjunction with the house, a mesmerizing experience is offered, enabling the users to connect with their environment in their own unique ways.

Adapting to new challenges
During the pandemic year of 2020, Internetstores in Stuttgart found themselves with empty offices. Like many other companies, they recognized the opportunity to utilize the space differently when employees were working remotely for most of the week.
Simultaneously, they aimed to invest in their employees' motivation by enhancing their quality of time spent in the office.
I planned several different scenarios, showcasing the potential of the existing space across varying budgets.
All concepts placed a strong emphasis on human connection and an appreciation for the employees' needs.

Not just camping
Ready-made campers are obviously an easier solution, but this wasn't an option for us. While most campers are constructed to provide the ultimate comfort, they aren't usually tailored to the needs of mountain bikers.
And where's the challenge in consuming a pre-made package? We threw ourselves into the project like true athletes, wanting to push our limits. In retrospect, we compare the process to riding down a new trail. You can gauge your ability but still want to push yourself further and have fun doing so.
Today, we don't just see the van as our second home, but as an expression of our identity.

The cupholder is inspired by traditional basket weaving skills.
The interior space emphasizes the sporty exterior and complements its fast, expressive design lines.
